North County Launch Spots

Hey guys where are the easiest places to launch from Del mar to Oside? And can I check cams/conditions via Surfline?

We launched at the boat launch yesterday in oside. I think it was pretty easy, but a lot of jackass boaters in there, in a hurry so be careful.

Did the dredging help? I went out of there last Thursday and the surf at the mouth was gnarly

It was gnarly yesterday too. You had to stick to the right heading out to avoid getting flipped.

There is also a launch site in Carlsbad at the north end of the power station. There is a little rock jetty there to give a little shelter. I have never personally launched there because it looks a little sketchy. I prefer to launch from Oceanside Harbor just from the simplicity perspective, but as stated, you have to be on guard from all the boats that will gladly plow you. I generally steer wide of the boat traffic and head out on the right side where the waves are not generally very high. There are some occasional large waves that can be rather intimidating though.
