Okay, got a chance to take the kayak for a spin Sunday. Headed out of DP around 10am.

Water was calm, swells were small and gentle, wind was light, no chop. Water temp was around 60.8 and slightly dirty but not bad. Current was mild and heading south.

Headed down the coast about 2 miles and started drifting. Found a shelf that had some hungry bass hanging out and had a fun day on very light tackle.

Headed in around sunset.

Nice! It looks like a fun day on the water.

Fun day! Is the PA 17t a beast to propel when going solo?

Why are the juvi-Cbass so fragile? When I used to tube at NPH I caught one, handled with with a soft net, kept it in the water until I went for the photo shot, and boom the fish still went belly up when I released it. The fish survived though after a couple minutes of reviving it.

I try and release mine while in the water still, but
they can get a bit squirrely at times.
Learned from others that its not a good idea to pick them up,
removing their slime coat I guess.

Maybe they build up acids while on the hook, during the fight, that shock their system...

Saba Slayer would be the guy to ask.
