Gloomis PBR844C Questions
Couple questions...
1.) Anyone ever use a Gloomis PBR844C 7' 15-30lb rod? If so for what fishing application? I was planning on pairing it with a Penn Squall lever drag reel for trolling for YT. 2.) Is $150 a fair price on a "used" but technically new one of these rods? 3.) If I am running 65lb braid do I need to have silicone carbide eyelets on the rod to prevent grooves from occurring? This is why I'm looking for a new rod in the first place. I was told my seeker rod could get grooves from the braid. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys/gals! |
Pro Blues are a good line from GLoomis. They retail for around $270, so that is a very good price for a newish one. Definitely a step up from your rod.

Great rods. Definitely a good deal.

Loomis have always been great+ bass fishing rods. I can't speak for their salt stuff, but I can't imagine they'd be THAT far off in quality.
Go for it! |
