Bassin' Lake Perris
This is a report from two days including 4/9 and 4/15.
Each session was about a half day and yielded five and six good sized fish each. I didn't photograph all of them but the photo's below will provide some samples. As always the biggest one got away managing to jump and throw my tackle leaving a bent hook in the wake of my sleigh-ride. Conditions here were definitely different than last fall with clearer water and levels coming up sufficient to flood the brush covered shore-lines. Mornings were cold (in the 40's) and water temps were in the very low 60's depending on location. Along the non-beach edges there was about 7+/- feet of water where I sat against the brush/reeds that the water has flooded into. There were some good "islands" of scattered brush and reeds protruding near the edges as well. Here are a few photos: Biggest model of the two days...looks spawned out being all head and tail: http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/...ps33nmj5ld.jpg Another good one: http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/...psyqpsgfqp.jpg Some color and pattern variation at other end of lake: http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4e0ff5dc.jpg Of course and as always with the LPB, beware the locals! Enjoy! |

NIce!!!! My 1st and last attempt to fish Perris a few months ago was a failure, I got off the exit to lake and realized I forgot my Paddle!!! LMFAO turned around the 40 miles back to house grabbed paddle and ended up in Puddingstone and still got skunked.

Nice Bass! How is the water level ? Was the lake back up to normal height - full?

Nice job. I keep saying I'm going to go for green bass soon. This helps to inspire me. Thanks.
