What Knot tying Spectra to Swivel ??
Which knot do you prefer when tying spectra to the swivel for a Carolina Rig.

Maybe a uni or how about doing a bimini and then looping the swivel on to that? Haven't really tried but that would be my suggestion.

i use a san diego on pretty much everything. you just may have to use quite a few raps so it holds. But remember, if its going to slip, it will slip when you cinch it

I like the centauri knot pretty easy to do and holds well.

Using PowerPro > Knots TIPS When tying PowerPro... - Pass your line through the eye of your tackle twice, if possible. - Double your line before tying, if your tackle allows, to create a larger, stronger knot. - Don't use clinch knots, which slip on PowerPro's slick surface. - Use a gloved hand, dowel, or soft-jawed pliers to avoid injury when tightening knots. - Moisten your knot before tightening. Uni Knot Uni to Uni Knot Palomar Knot Albright Knot Reverse Albrigh |
I put a 5-15ft heavy mono leader on the spectra (bimini to reverse albright) above the swivel, then fluoro below. Much easier to retie the mono on the water if needed and I don't like the way the weight slides on straight spectra. Not sure why, but it doesn't feel right to me. If I do tie straight spectra, I always use a trilene or palomar knot.
