Hobie Rudder problem
I just purchased a used Hobie revo 13 with a sailing rudder and the down pulley doesn’t fully pull the rudder down. I have to pull harder than I should to even get it in the water. Anyone know what causes this? I don’t think anything is broken, maybe just something needs to be lubed or tightened. Thanks

if the rudder itself is hard to move by hand then loosening the pivot bolt will solve the issue, just back it out until it swings freely. They get gummed up with salt water usage.

I’m not exactly sure what part that is, can you describe to me what it looks like? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I just posted the pics in your thread, my bad.

In the second photo, that is my rudder when I pull it all the way up. The last one is of my rudder handle center position. After pulling the up and down handles a couple of times I realized the up pulls it too far and the down doesn’t pull it enough. Also, when I take the down pulley off of the cleat, it doesn’t retract like it should. I have to help it back in a little so there is no slack. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
