LJ yellows question
1 Is there such thing as too big of a green back for YT? A few times In the past I’ve been only able to make giant macs for bait and was wondering if that had anything to do with not getting bit.
2 it’s been years since I’ve fished lajolla , are you still able to drive up on the beach to unload early before grey light? Added a question.. 3 Is an older Model (2006?) Tarpon 120 capable for LJ? I’ve had an older 13 Revo and a 15 Prowler just picked up the tarpon 120 which is a bit shorter. I’m confident in my kayaking abilities but asking is there’s any reason why a 12 would be a bad idea? |
2 yes you can still drive if the beach and load and off load.

I haven't ever caught a green back that was too big for the yt. I always feel more confident with the larger mackerel. I mean the arm sized 16+ inch models are my favorite.
2× on the launch from LJ beach. |
Big Bait = Big Fish! No such thing as too big a mac for a Yellowtail. I prefer the 10"-13" greenback, strong swimmers and also like to dive deeper. Yes to loading and unloading on the sand.
