Mount and battery for fish finder
I recently purchased a lowrance elite 7 ti2 and I was wondering what would be my best options for a mount and battery for it. I am on a hobie outback 2019. Thanks

I got the ram ball setup for mine. I fished from 6 am - 9 pm on a 10ah Nocqua and still had juice left with the Elite 7 Ti2. I would probably do the wilderness systems 15Ah battery pack if I were to do it again. More amp hours and usb ports at around the same price point.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Hello, I purchased a Dakota Lithium 12v 23ah battery for my Lowrance elite ti2 fish finder and other accessories 4 months ago and love it. It also has 11 years warranty. It fits under my Hobie pro angler 14 seats. I also have my Lowrance fish finder mounted on the ball. The battery is a little pricey
$ 250.00 but that would be the same price for one of the Hobie batteries. Hope this helps |
Thank you

Stick with the Hobie H-rail F/F mount and a 4" extension and you should be good with mounting. Make sure you stick with the 1.5' ball. Anthing else and you will be wasting time. |
Okay got you, thank you for your input.

Might also want to consider the contrast in the weight of Lithium-ion batteries:
18AH Dakota................6.4lbs........$179/208 W/Charger 15AH Bioenno Power......4.3lbs ....$150/169 W/charger 10AH Nocqua................1.4lb........$99/130 W/charger 17.5 AH FPV Power............2.02lbs.........$229 W/Charger It bugs me that FPV Power costs $55 less if I could buy off the Australian websites. I have also heard good things about Bionno Power custumer service replacing batteries. I have been using 2 cut-up foam floaties from the dollar store. Once cut to shape to wedge between the supports under the chair, I used a couple of screws to hold the layers of foam together. Has worked well for the PA and Outback for the last 2 years, both with lithium and lead batteries without any issues. Always use dielectric grease on all connnections for protection and longevity. |
Thank you John !

I cover mounting of the elite 7 ti2 in this video.

I use a DeWalt 12V drill battery I had. Put it in a waterproof plastic case and drilled 2 holes for stainless screws through the end and sealed with rubber washers to connect the power leads. Seems to work all day, and this is an older battery on a Stryker 5. Use the DeWalt battery charger.
