Kayak power supply for powerful depth finder

Is anyone running a 2kw or higher system on their kayak for deep water? If so what are you using for power and how long is the run time?

I would be surprised if anyone was running a 1kw transducer, most are much less. A 2kW transducer costs more than many kayaks. You might want to post this question on a boating forum.

Modern-day electronics are much more efficient than older units, to determine the operating time, find how much current the unit draws, and then Divide the amp-hour capacity of one's battery by the current for a theoretical run time. The actual run time will always be less due to the resistance of wiring.

I have been thinking I might upgrade to 1kw someday when I try to yak a sword. If you pursue this, let us know how it works out Chris?

That’s def a possibility and doable but I have another idea for a remote system that will allow me to see items in 600+ ft of water that may need recovered.
