West Coast Adventures : Group Run!

More adventures from Down Under, no fish this time tho...:sifone:

The weather certainly doesnt get much better than it was Saturday! Glassed out by 10am, low swell, beautiful! :luxhello:

I almost thank every good sized pinky in the Sound for not showing up and letting us enjoy this splendid day, almost..

The day started awesomely, with a better than expected turn out. We had the south of the river regulars in myself, Shorty and Mattyoga (the snapper jedi), combined with the northern travellers in Jutto, Carl, Glen and Colin. All arrived on time, and we were setting up our yaks and saying g'day to new faces on what can only be described as a beautiful calm, beach launch.

From there we ventured out into the Sound, b-lining for the D9, as it seemed to be relativley boat free. Amazingly, considering the reports of great catches there all week. The flotilla of kayaks paddling out on the millpond of the Sound, with the sun rising over the industrial wasteland of the Kwinana Industrial Strip was quite awe-inspiring.

So we arrived at the designated first stop, and proceeded to off-load a monumental amount of fish attracting debri, to no avail. Personally i think this was our downfall, as there was so much food in the water, the Snappers were to full to eat!!!

We hung around here for a few hours, and then pulled up anchor, and headed down to some other ground near the Stirling Channel, again skillfully avoiding all size-able pinkies in the area. Here we hooked into some Herring, whilst enjoying the silky smooth conditions.

So we soon had enough and proceeded back to the beach where we packed up our yaks, had a wee chinwag, and cruised home.

A big thanx to all the Northies who made the effort to come down for the morning, and also to Shorty and Matt, ever reliable yakking mates!

Thanks All!

Thanks for the great report even without fish conditions like that and a great group of guys is one of my favorite ways to spend the day. I like the phrase "wee chinwag" have to start using that over here

Thanks guys.

"Wee Chinwag" well, it's really quite simple. "Wee" is Irish slang for small. And a "Chinwag" well that's easy. Just picture your missus with her friends, and break it down into syllables.. :)

Classic, thanks.

Yes it was a nice day on the water, the weather has been terrible lately and rain and wind is forecast here for the rest of the week, seems Brett has a golden touch organising the weather for us.

There seemed to be an unspoken agreement amonsgt the guys to conserve our important Snapper stocks so we all deserve a pat on the back ;)

Heres a few more pictures of the day, we had 7 of us out with more knocking on the door wanting to come out (purchased yaks over the weekend), this is a great number in our little backwater city (and for the middle of winter)

I found a couple more, theres no shore break to worry about just horses and greyhounds , could be an interesting title "Horses trample 7 kayaks "

On Edit> Was just showing my sister this forum and how the guys catch big fish out from Larr -Joll -Larr beach, she tells me to drop the J and say Olii ? or something or other, my way sounds much better i reckon .
