New to Ventura area
 

Hi everyone. My son will be going UC Channel Island. So I'll be frequenting the Ventura/Port Hueneme area. Where is there some decent fishing. Also where would I be launching from? Thanks in advance.

You can launch just south of Arco Island / Rincon Island for some very good barracuda fishing this time of year. Typically requires a pretty long paddle offshore. My avatar photo is from there.

Congratulations to your son for getting accepted at UC Channel Island! Point Mugu State Park Beach looks like the closest launch to your son's campus? I would think Halibut would be a good target? Maybe someone with local knowledge can chime in?
