Double Hook Up on ONE LURE in Bahia Asuncion...baja sur
5 Attachment(s)
I gotta radio call from our neighbour Kayak Kevin saying to bring my camera down to the beach...I love it when that happens.
Kevin was kayaking out in front of our place at the point in Bahia Asuncion around the kelp paddy where he usually gets his limit of calico easily. He had a big smile on his face when he landed and opened the hatch and pulled out a nice size yellowtail and a calico bass...ON ONE LURE! While he was trolling, the yellowtail took the front hook of a purple rapalla and the calico on the back...too funny. Yellowtail are everywhere right now just off the beaches and islands here. dorado and tuna are moving in this week. The water is around 80 degrees and the kelp paddies are breaking apart now so there is lots of floating structure with dorado under it. And there are still halibut off the beaches as well and yellowfin croaker close to shore. |
Ouch...thanks for the report...:you_rock:...

Shari, Thanks for the hospitality last weekend at Bahia Asuncion. Kevin and I had perfect yaking conditions but the YT just didn't want to cooperate. I did get a double hook-up on Calico Bass while trolling a Yo-Zuri. I will be back in B.A. in November.

It was real nice to see you again and fun to watch you and Kevin trolling around out in front of our place...maybe you'll catch a tuna in November!!
