Surf Landing......
-Stay outside of the swells and watch the sets come in.
-When you find that lag time between sets and you've come to the point where you commit to the landing, haul ass like you're life depends on it. -When your kayak has stopped moving get out as quickly as possible. An example from our boating friends....... http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f00_1264343335 |
one thing I would like to add is to secure and/or remove all loose lures especially ones with treble hooks before heading through the surf!
|
Or you can just wait until the surf diminishes and not worry about it.:dontknow:

i ussualy launch in front of my house on law st in pb which generally has more surf than LJ.
|
I find it easier to leave the rods unleashed, not stow anything, and make sure you nail it...much easier.
Bonus is when you catch a wave and you don't have to paddle in...:the_finger: |
That guy was an amateur - this is how its done.

I would love to have a panga. Those things are built like tanks.

Be thankful for the relatively benign conditions at La Jolla.
Our counterparts in South Africa get to enjoy landings like this: http://www.akff.net/forum/download/file.php?id=48725 Stealth Performance Products Evolution in the surf http://www.stealthkayaksaustralia.co...1_IMG_1226.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIqaqP8Acic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WB1RORsauIM |
