DP: On the rocks..
So.. I was not able to get out on fish on the yak like I do every Sunday. So I decided to just go and fish off of the rocks for a couple of hours, so that way I was able to do some fishing.
So.. after about 3 casts, I had a couple nice bumps followed by a slam! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3354/...1dbd6a4e_b.jpg <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomferris/4576555322/" title="Halibut - Dana Point Harbor by tom ferris, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4057/4576555322_04d0244083_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Halibut - Dana Point Harbor" /></a> Caught this 24' inch Halibut after fishing for about 10 minutes. I caught him on a drop shot, with a 4 inch Zoom Super Fluke. |
Great, I'm looking forward to my first legal size from there - were you fishing inside or outside the on the jetty?

Nice Slab! After all those Grunion runs im not surprised. Maybe the shortfin are cruising around..

Nice flattie! I love catching halibut on the bass gear. Some of my most memorable halibut trips I was using 6lb. bass setups.
