I can't say I've done anything near 10' swell, but I've had my Cuda on some pretty rough days and it's done fine for me up here. My Trident has been hanging on the wall for a year now.

It's nice that reel manufacturers are making better performing drag systems. That was the main reason I use larger reels, not so much about capacity, just getting the fish stopped.
