Sunday La Jolla

First light launch- easy with small waves. Bait was abundant and water temp is coming up 63-66. Not much in terms of pelagics but plenty of rockfish, sculpin and calicos. Ready for fish taco Monday....

Just a quick report because no one else will post about La Jolla these days. Went out yesterday afternoon for a few hours. Very lively out there with bird schools, lots of bait and consistent action....

I was out a couple days ago- ugly red tide then inside but there were bonito in the kelp line in about 55 ft. Caught a few on the sabiki. Water was clear outside.

It's very stable, just a little more squirrelly. It does not seem as prone to get out of control is you get sideways like the PA, but there is a huge difference when coming in with extra weight on...

Started slow but late morning started to come alive. Sporadic boils; fast moving small schools of yellows amidst the bonito. Most fun ever---on the surface iron! 26#

Well, look what I found!

Quick trip to La Jolla yesterday am- launched at first light. Bait was tough to get- got one Spanish so I fly-lined it immediately and searched for more. I always use a heavy sibiki with a megabait...
