99% of kayak fishermen would be fine with the fresh 83/200 vs the salt 50/200 I am one of the 99%. The 50/200 is massive in size, costs about $100 more and uses more power.

Alan, no weight on the line, #2 live bait hook and 30# line. Changed out my bait every 15 minutes or so if it did not get ripped sooner, to keep a feisty one out there.

Hobie pro rates warranty beyond the initial 2 years. Pulling up may not have caused the crack but only revealed it. There should be the closed cell foam block wedged under that to keep the pressure...

I never saw it in person, but saw a photo on the Castaic site showing an entire car exposed now, the lake is so low it is a trip to see what were once just high spots that are now part of the shore...
