Hahaha, yes I teach middle school and feel the same way about parents using games as a babysitter.
I am not sure what I am looking for and that is kind of the problem. I don’t know much about kayaks other than they are a ton of fun to paddle around. I scuba dive and my son free dives. So something that maybe has space for some gear would be great. He is a junior lifeguard and is very comfortable in the water but I would not let him go kayaking alone (protective single mom). It was hard enough letting him surf without me. So maybe a two seater or a couple single ones. My price range is limited since I am a teacher and single mom but some friends and family all said they would pitch in for a group gift if I found something that was a good deal. Hope this helps.
