Across from NEPTUNES?!?!?!?! Dude, you should launch at LEO south of the rock a little ways, there is far less surf there! Deer Creek also has some nice kelp extremely close to the beach. Surf is hit or miss and breaks on the beach so you can time it nicely and the structure there drops fast. You should try out some of your buddies kayaks to see what better suits you.
