On my first La Jolla trip I wheeled my Stealth 12 to and from my car to the beach. Wheeling it in the morning with all the gear and no people was relatively easy

. However when you are done and try to get back to your car it is much more difficult. You have to deal with the tons of people walking between you and your vehicle making sure that your poles do not hit anyone or any one's car. Also by this point you will likely be tired making it a bit of a chore to pull the yak even with the cart. Also when parking in the morning make sure the back of your car is directly in front of a red zone. I had someone park an inch from my vans trunk because they thought that they could squeeze in there and not be in the red zone

. I don't know how i would have loaded the yak back on the car if a couple of people had not offered me to help get it on. Another thing to consider on the return is that if fishing was good then you will have a lot more weight in your yak on the pull back to the car. Lesson I took from this experience is that A. Come on a day that will not be crowded B. Park as close to the launch as possible and C. Get a vehicle that will be much less likely to get stuck in sand so i can pull up on the peach to load and unload.
