Lots of boaters (of all kinds) use 303. Count me amongst 'em. I tend to take care of my stuff anyway, so this added step makes sense to me. When I say "added" it's because I store my $3000 Pro Angler under my deck and in a boat cover. The 303 protects it when I'm afloat.

I'm inland, so there's no salt problem, but we do have a pretty strict invasive species program here, so washing and drying a boat after every use is just about mandatory. For cleaning, I use Simple Green, much diluted. Others like 409 spray. I give it a 303 treatment at the start of the season, again midway through the summer and again before I store for the winter. Cheap insurance.
