1 - different strokes for different folks (your mileage may very for every comment made) but the # item is a great life jacket aka PFD and a good paddle.
2 - what are you planning to target and where are you going to fish? You may not need a bait tank if you're going to chuck plastics all day in the bay or fresh water.
