My Dad used to take me and my brother every year back when it was held at the "Pan Pacific Auditorium". After it was closed they moved it to the old L.A. Convention center. Way back then they used to give away some free stuff to the first 250-500 kids under 12 each day. Amazingly I still have a free Plano tackle box from one of those shows from back in the '60's.
As an adult I've made it a habit to stay away unless I had at least $300 to blow on stuff because there were always soo many specials

, this was before I worked at Art's Tackle (back in the '80's) then I volunteered to work the show a few times for various Companies

Since then I can only remember attending just a handful of times (the last time was in the mid-'90's).

It's really easy to spend a bundle or max out a credit card or two at these shows!
