I know the stock Elite transducers(HST-WSU 106-48) do not shoot through the hull of a kayak because I tested three new transducers(or "ducers") and two new Elite 3x fishfinders. Even in water, inside the hull, they did not work. The older Eagle skimmer transducers, which have the same part number will shoot through a kayak hull.

Give it a shot, maybe it will work.
