NEW SCOUT 430 inflatable update
The Scout 430 is almost ready for the water, just need some help putting the Honda 6 hp on the transom. Just too much weight for me, afraid I might fall and that would not be good. A 3.5 weighs less then 40 pounds while the 6 weighs in at just under 60 pounds. I can handle the 40 pounds, 60 is just too much.
The Scout is roomy, I have 9 feet from the transom to the forward spray shield. I have it set up with all three aluminum seat bars installed. I wanted to sea if that would give me a working platform for lobstering. It will be fine. For fishing I will leave the forward seat bar off.
The workman ship is very good, all seams are hand glued and show no signs of being sloppy. The fit and finish are excellent. Everything fits like a glove. The 430 looks better then the 365, but that might be my perspective.
If I can get the outboard installed today then tomorrow in the morning i will give it a sea trial and let you know how it performs on the Sea of Cortez. In the mean time here are a few pictures. Sorry guys I still canot seem to upoad pictures from my harddrive to here, so they are on Facebook at mako-ville. Thanks guys have a great day.
