My suggestion; don’t use your high dollar tools when doing this yourself and use a longer screw or rivet.

A Tip for working with goop, Friction (rubbing your hands together) will make it ball right up and come off. Super easy MUCH better than 5200 like we used to use. Although much better the goop still does tend to make a mess on certain tools (especially sockets). We do tend to use less expensive, more disposable tools when working with any sealant.

Also if you go with too long of a bolt (1") your going to end up with a lot inside the tank. You will catch your fingers, bait net, etc on them. Rivets do NOT have the strength to hold up the KayaTank (for all of those Future installers don't try using rivets). Although the 3/4" bolt may be difficult to get started the end result is worth it. Note that the use of Spring Clamps to hold everything together will make getting these bolts in much much easier.

Again feel free to call me and lets get this figured out, or stop by SSB and let Andy help figure it out.
