White Sea Bashing

Started today off at 4 this morning, launched by 430. Made bait an was fishing by 530. Had some good sized waves but none the less nothing to get spooked about. Not to many birds out with some wind pushing out and to the right. I hooked this thing by like 630-7. The greatest thing about it is all I had was this make shift gaff witch was a big J hook tied on to a stick do to my last geting lost on the last trip. I thought i was gonna lose it right after I saw how big it was. I knew my hook stick was gonna be no match for it but what other choice did i have. I ended up gaffing it three times before it finily sank deep enough to bring the fish aboard. This is my first fish out of La Jolla and my fifth trip.I didn't expect something this size to come up on my first. It weighed out to 50.7lb on the fish market scale.51 inches long with a girth of 29 inches. Hope to get out there soon again.

I don't know how to really post pics but hears a try.
