Best? Probably a simrad with 360 sonar and a bird radar. Only about 40k

Jk. If your budget allows for it pick something in the ~800-1000 range from your favorite manufacturer.

Some frequency around 80 and a frequency around 200 for traditional sonar. Side scan and down scan will be in the 455 and 800ish kHz, and wattage around 1k for deep water penetration. Consider how the unit mounts and how you will mount it, and whether or not you want touch screen or not, etc. look at the connectors and how they attach to the kayak and see what you are most comfortable with. The less you have to remove and install the connectors the better. But if they are just a friction fit connector they will not last long, even with minimal in and out usage

I am partial to lowrance but humminbird/garmin/ray marine all make competitive units with the same features and they’re own twist.
