Lingering pain

I've got a tear in my shoulder right now. Depending on the degree of the tear, meds and rest could get you over the hump, but if I know you... that won't work. Only your Doctor can tell you what to do based on exam. If you go in for an exam, they will probably start you off with Xrays (usually doesn't show anything). Try to request an "MRI with Contrast (Dye)". This is the best method to show tears.

Your young enough, the Dr may recommend surgery. When your around your 50's, it's a different story and the side effects of the surgery are not so nice - that is why I have gone the Hobie route. I have also had to limit some activities. Example - Racquetball with my 25 yr old son I place my shots instead of slamming it, hoopin - not so sure how I'll do this year - one night of hoopin turns into 2 days of ice on the shoulder. Even a 12 hour day of fishing on the Hobie brings pain just due to the fishing portion

Good luck to ya!
