I used a similar battery but 9ah. Bought 3 for around $50 from what I remember. They fit in the hobie battery tray inside my center hatch. Will a 2lb battery be better than these "heavy" 5 pounders? Yup, but I already carry a bunch of crap and it wouldn't make a difference to me. I've have zero issues too. Only thing I needed to do is redo the wires to the terminals. I added chain oil to prevent rust.

I do however want to make a big lightweight pack to add more electronics to my kayak. Like bow, stern, and navigation lights. It be nice to run everything off one battery. But for just the ff, nothing fancy is need for ME in my Pro Angler.
