straight spectra to 5' flouro leader is best, (not slick spectra if fishing near kelp beds), swivel is not needed. if you get some twist in the line, just let it out after the gaff with a 3oz torpedo on it to untwist...or let it out slowly as you are trolling with no hook an it will untwist itself.

I find the swivel to be cool but unneeded, expensive and another thing to break, adds another knot to the equation, and cant get through your guides as easy. And I agree with Ful-Rac, Flouro is a no brainer (way more abrasion resistant) get blackwater, its a shock absorbant flouro. Good Luck!!!!
