Mine almost turned into a cautionary tale. I just spent an hour futzing with my hook5 to get it to power on, and with the multimeter showing full power at the terminal. I was just about convinced the unit was cooked, when I wiggled the cable one. last. time.

I swear, even with dialectic grease, I get so much corrosion in the terminals.

I just saved coordinates from my Hook5. You'll def need a microSD. Can't be bigger than 32gb apparently.

Menu Button>Settings>Charts>Waypoints, trails, etc.>Menu Button>Save data.

Looks like this unit only gives the option to save version 3 and version 2... whereas I had seen tutorials on HDS units to save 5 different formats including GPX. In fact, it looks like the only tutorials available are on the touchscreen models.

Version 3 includes depth data with the coordinates. Version two is just coordinates.
Per this info, it looks like you can use GPSBabel to convert to GPX if you want to edit. https://doctorsonar.com/blogs/educat...ance-waypoints
