Copper Sunday 12/1 at Newport
Launched at 6:15 with only two boats heading out in the channel. Suuuper quiet. It was a spectacular sunrise and just plain flat, calm conditions all morning with almost zero wind.
![]() Made my way out to look for some Reds but it was the Coppers that dominated the day. Most of the action was in 200 - 215 ft all on the fresh dead. Had a couple Reds and a Barber Pole to round out the bag for limits. ![]() ![]() ![]() All of the Coppers were in the 2 - 4 lb range, Reds were maybe 2lbs. The entire time out there, I saw literally one other yak in the distance and that was it...had the place seemingly all to myself. There were more Yaks fishing inside when I returned at 10:30. Tight lines! ![]()
