2 Million to one

Is a Million to one, and a million to one equal to 2 million to one? Here is the reason I had to use my backup gaff several weeks ago on that 32# Hali at LJ. Got a couple of reminders on why it is important to support the fish by the gaff in the belly until it is secured and dealt with.

Nice! What a day. So where does a floating gaff disappear to?

1/1,000,000 x 1/1,000,000= 1/1,000,000,000,000 = one in a trillion

Great video and great catch!

You got a lot of luck going on there with the tail hooks. I'm far from an expert, but a couple of suggestions to consider.....I tether my gaff and game clip, and I would not bring that mouth full of teeth into the kayak right by my groin until I am sure it is dead (club to the head).
Well done though. Tail hooks are more of a fight because you can't turn them.

You've lived a bit of a charmed life.

You should change your user name to Greg Gaffigan!

Nice composure and fish.

We will never catch him. Let’s set our sights a little lower. Better chances of success. I do like success. Team Sewer has halibut hunting down and Greg even more. Great catches Greg!

1/1,000,000 x 1/1,000,000= 1/1,000,000,000,000 = one in a billion.
Those little bumps and bruises that the plastic end cap takes with normal use make great places for water to enter under pressure.

That is actually one in a trillion. I know the math, was just trying to add a bit of humor.

I am no expert either, but I do know a few things.

No, the first one was before I could get my camera down on that drop. The second one was too deep to film with my GoPro 4 dive case.

Brass Balls

"...I would not bring that mouth full of teeth into the kayak right by my groin..."
With Greg's Brass Balls that Halibut would loose some teeth...LOL...

I'm hoping Greg will bring some of that great underwater footage to the Fred Hall Long Beach Show in March with Team Sewer at the Hobie seminar area and show us regular folks how he gets those images...

So lucky on so many fronts, good job!

I'm not sure where those 'floating' gaffs go, lost mine on a thresher, never came back up.
