Kelp paddies

Went up about 6 miles off La Jolla on Sunday. Water was a nice blue, definitely could have been holding. Ran across a few paddies but only bait underneath. Those kelps are pretty hard to find only sitting 12” off the water. I didn’t commit as much as I could have to going offshore, but from the short time I spent offshore definitely felt like it could have happened. Get out there with a few buds and take a look.

We're starting to see kelp in Santa Monica bay, it's been a while since we've seen kelp up in our area.

Limited visibility

If a feller was handy with a drone he could use it to look for kelp paddies and then paddle out to them. That would not be me, because I'm more of a minimalist....Bait tube instead of tank, etc.

Find a current break.....

And travel down it.~`▪#•*":;^*#"^: )# There easy to spot a lot of debris and foam floating in the water.
Kelp patties Could be lined up like sitting ducks in a row.
