There are lots of sharks in South Africa. In over a decade and a half of surfing there, I only saw a few. There are tons of fish and seals to keep them happy. A good program would be "River Monsters" on the National Geographic web. The episode was filmed in the Breede River, catch and release the biggest line caught Bull Sharks. If you do go fishing there, make sure you get the fish in the boat quickly, or it will become a sharks dinner.
