Best knot and setup for white sea bass?

So im finally putting together a setup for the cbass.

shimano tyrnos 10 II speed conventional with probably a calstar 670 with 40# spectra. Would that be a good setup?

What setup is best for live bait? is there a particular knot that is best for braid line?hook, line, weight?

65# Spectra minimum (works like a chain saw in kelp), with 25# to 30# 6 ft Flouro leader ( I prefer Blackwater) to 1/0 or 2/0 ringed circle hooks by Owner. Remember that a decent size fish can bend the thin wire hooks. Uni to Uni from spectra to flouro... or be lazy and use a Swivel like me (lost a nice c-bass recently to using a swivel, maybe a bad idea...) the nice thing about rigging this way is the ease of switching to a different target by just changing out leaders, which can be premade at home.

just my $0.02

Now that is some great advice right there! what is 65# in mono? 30lb? I usually like to use a swivel too but i dont like having more than one knot so i normally use a carolina keeper.Cant use a floro leader with that setup tho.

How far out do you troll the live bait? 50 yards?
Ill be getting a yoyo setup as well but cant cast those basitcasters so ill be using a shimano baitrunner like this

Would that still work ok for jigging?

I tie my spectra to my flouro with a Albright special. I wrap with 13 wraps up and then down. Regards to the Carolina you can just go with a egg weight straight to the hook.
