Carlsbad - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

Any good Fishing in front of south Carlsbad state beach. I am going to be camping there next week and was curious which fishing setups I should bring.

I've launched my yak at Ponto a couple times and paddled south towards Beacons and had some good action. Lots of Calicos are hiding in the eel grass right outside the surf breaks. I have not tried fishing north of the jetty near the RV campground though...
