LJ 3/11
Got water down my waders at five AM and snapped off my one-and-only hookup for the day at 9AM. Good day for others. Saw some small class YT being gaffed. Bait is off the charts right now. Baby squidlets cruising at the surface with the plankton. Maybe 3/4" on average. I think that's what has the greenies so excited. Mmmmm squidly flavors. Had a greenie hit a raw 4/0 circle hook today out of sheer exuberance. I towed him around for a few minutes before I realized he was on there. Only figured it out because he broke my ghetto rod holder (three strikes, time to paddle in!), which I must now rebuild with greater strength. It was never meant to hold a fish, even a mack, but still. Lame sauce. Wind is getting fierce. Be careful if you go out there for sunset. |
