Fresh water kayak rinse
This looks promising. Arriving 'downtown', this place looks about right. Have to make sure they have all the proper amenities. No problem with that. Time to gear up and hit the water. Its nice to give the bait tank and braided line a rest and get out the small stuff for a change. With no bait and tackle shop in town to hit up for local knowledge, I was on my own. They've got to be out here somewhere. I'm not much of a trout fisherman. I can hardly tell the difference between a Royal Coachman and a Thomas Buoyant. But fish are fish and they all behave like fish, more or less. So after scouting around likely fishy habitats, I had some dinner in hand, so to speak. Back to camp, waiting for the grill to heat up, I took the time to rinse myself off with some ice cold Sierra Nevada fresh water. |

Isn't Sierra Nevada the best beer or what?

Rianbows
Pete's fish looks like a Brown Trout. These are Rainbows from the Eastern "High Sierras" ....

Very nice Pete! Looks like a great time in a beautiful surrounding!
Reminds me alot of where I grew up: http://www.mtevanstroutfishing.com/index.htm It used to be called the Pinecrest trout ranch, but the new owners changed the name when we sold it. Many childhood memories there though! Congrats again on a great time! Last edited by Handymansd; 08-17-2011 at 07:19 AM. |

Looks and sounds like a great trip. As much as I love our local salt water fish I have to say fresh trout grilled or cooked in the bacon grease for breakfast is hard to beat. Mike
