Good day
Went out in DP today, water was 60 and fairly calm. Managed to catch 3 halibut all between 24-26 inches. Was trying out my new rod and reel( Daiwa Saltiga G rod and saltist 30) very nice combo. I finally got a double hook. Caught the first one right around high tide on a sardine rigged to a three way swivel with 2 oz of weight. Then I went back and redid the drift hooked up again, when I got him to color the other rod goes bendo. Landed the second one on the net then went to the other rod. When I got that one up he's a keeper as well. At this point the net already has a hali in it so I grab the gaff and while trying to gaff it in the mouth I actually gaff my hook and break the fish off. Lesson learned deal with one at a time.
