Day after 4th ... No one around.

Launched around 6am. Got to the grounds and there were only 9-10 people out the whole morning. Awesome. Made some greenbacks and got picked up in about 90ft. Kelped me bad, I ended up cutting about 4 pieces of bull kelp. Been fishing straight braid lately and it's been working just fine, my knots never seem to hold when I tie on a leader no matter how tight I get them. Anyways got the one fish and decided to keep this one, tried for another but had to leave to get to work. Back at the beach by 1030. Super fun morning.

You should raise your camera and mount it to the left or right side of the kayak.....whichever your gaff side is.

Yea I definitely need to modify it a bit... the angle I have now is a pretty boring camera height/angle that is for sure.

Congrats surfisher, enjoy the rewards. You have been landing quite a few Yellows in the last few weeks.

I was there, launched at 5:40 had a hard time making bait. Trolled one to start near the outer kelp edges and end up having a 15" calico hit the bait and after a couple hit he got hooked, landed and released. Couldn't buy a yellow with the macs but fed a lot of seals. Tossed the iron on a lot of marks and bait balls, got hit twice but neither took it long enough. Saw like 3 Yellows landed early, but the rest of the day I could hear on the radio the same frustration I was feeling.

Literally same experience, got two rats on the yoyo and lost all my bait plus that one fish to the seals. Must have missed you! Next time ...
