my buddy had a yardsale on this week (monday).....custom wrapped jigstick (if I remember right it was blue and black in coloration with a kick butt hand grip) and a saltist reel (silver).....his name is on it as well (Ron San Jose)........he would be super stoked if you found it he would be able to describe it better but that is what I remember of it...he also lost a drybag with a 12v battery in it.......tough first day OTW

I dropped an 8' sabre jig stick with penn 525 overboard a couple of weeks ago at LJ, but I doubt they made it back to the launch!

I haven't done that in years, but Wednesday was having these sets of three big breakers farther out, than regular waves, a lull, regular waves, a lull, then the big ones. I went out on the 2nd lull. Oops. Took the first one over the bow, the 2nd one over the hips, still paddling straight out, then the 3rd biggest one in the face did me in.

I had grabbed my jig stack at the last minute and didn't have a leash for it. Shoulda been inside the hull...

You guys are scaring me now. I think I think I better get out there and try a few launches and landings empty before I try to make it fully loadedJ
Maybe tomorrow.

I'm always encouraged by the people on this site that come forth with their help. To turn in someone else's lost rod and reel is a commendable deed. dmyaker ran out to me not knowing if I needed some cleanup help after my spill on that same day. Luckily it was all strapped down (except for the cooler).

Fooled by the old double big set (with another sneaker added in at the end). Strap it all in people and GO FOR IT. Cheers to dmyaker.

Not a bad idea to do anyway so that you can get fully comfortable with your yak. There are some great Youtube videos about Launching and Landing in the surf you might want to check those out.
Launching:

Landing:

They were very helpful to me and I'm sure to others as well.
