5 day fishing trip

So I tell my wife that a 5 day fishing trip would be around $1200 ...

Then I tell her if I go kayak fishing 5 days in a row it will only cost me $75 in gas ....

I think she bought it .....

I've tried that one... "If you don't go anywhere then it would cost us nothing". Only thing that works on my wife is a guilt trip.

Try the exercise angle

and tell her about the healthy Fresh seafood

And my favorite, Everybody get a weekend (two days off) so I need to go fishing at least once a week, (this leaves the other day for the family)

Well executed psychological play, my good man. I've gotten my wife to ok new fishing rod purchases with the "Picaso didn't paint with only one brush" analogy. Try it. Mike

She will say she's over it, but it will come up in conversation 10 years later, as though it was yesterday!

The trick is to buy stuff often enough that she'll never be able to remember all the buys from the past.

Also, hopefully in 10 years it won't matter anyway because you'll be in the best part of marriage... divorce
