Malibu stealth fish finder install - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

Looking for some ideas on how and where to mount up a fish finder on the malibu stealth.
Going to be getting a new one after I sell my ocean kayak. Thinking I might get the lowrance hds5.

Would like to see some pics of how you have yours mounted. Not really a fan of the Xwing so I'm looking for other options.

Don't know about where to mount the fish finder but I recently installed one on my T-13. I used electrical putty for the transducer (less than $2 at home dept.) the putty worked great with no problems in clarity. Easy to use, can take off and use again easily if you want to move the transducer to a new position. Liked it better than goop.

Mine is mounted just forward of the bait tank. The only issue with this spot is that at the end of the day when I stow everything in the forward hatch, I have to crawl over the mounting bracket. The transducer is gooped in the center of the hull. Wires come through the hull just forward of the mounting bracket.

Mine is the same. The mount is directly in behind the bait tank switch with the transducer gooped to the inside of the hull. Because the moniter is on a ram mount I just rotate it on the ball joint so it isnt in the way when I am reaching into the front hatch.

If you are going to buy a new Malibu Kayak they now come with a transducer ready spot underneath the back of the kayak.

The only bad thing is that they do not fit the Lowerance HDS 5.

For the mount I would recommend a ram mount so you do not have a mount stick up 8 inches off your kayak.
