4/2 LJ MPA NIMBY Fishin' Hole Check
Finding the bait ball is the hard part, kinda wfo from there. Got a few treefish, starries, reds, calicos, lings. I left 'em biting, and landed at Big Rock area around 8:30 pm. Two miles out, bull kelp minefield and it was pitch black out there!! . . MPA? NO NO NO Not in my backyard! I support tighter regs, not total closures!! . . . ** Most fish released ** First ling of the season, 23.5 inches released. Deep Calico released. Ling 24.5 inches and smiling

For the record, all MPAs are not exclusive no take zones. In fact only a small percentage are completely off limits. Just thought I'd chime in to feel the hate.

Sure 32" is a keeper too but 24" is legal.
http://www.dfg.ca.gov/marine/mapregs5.asp#lingcod_open I will be talking at the kayak fishing workshop at Fastlane on Mission Bay tomorrow, come out and bring your questions. It's free - Try out all the Mirage drive kayaks, learn fishing secrets, scarf on free drinks and snacks provided by Ron ... .
