Was wondering if anyone knows of a launch site for kayak south of shelter island closer to the point

You mean like for sale?The same realtor that sold the coronado bridge has just what you are looking for.

IB. You can just go out past the condos and walk down and launch or there is j st marina

I've launched out of Pescado beach in OB. The waves there can get a bit large though.

The area of McCall & San Antonio just off of Rosecrans in Pt Loma has a good beach launch. It'll save you 10-15 minutes of paddling from Shelter's ramp. Parking can be a challenge but usually okay.
