La Jolla launch is closed for the next 24hrs
Apparently, some kayaker was bumped by a hammerhead at the launch so the life guards have closed it for 24hrs

Unless a shark has attacked your kayak... probably not a good idea to make a big deal about a shark sighting on the beach. Unless of course your goal is to get the beach closed.

Must of been the dudes who landed before me. Coming in I got asked twice if I was the one who got tailgated by a hammerhead. I said whoa a hammer head, I wish... those things are cool!

Was in right as a swimmer was talking to someone freaked out about a shark following him. I guess some guys notified him and were trying to bridge the gap between them and him... I think? Maybe it was those guys that got bumped. I wasn't waiting around since space was severely limited at the launch and my fishy needed cutting
I doubt anyone is going to have trouble launching early tomorrow. |

Was going to head out this morning too.
For you locals, I've read most of you launch in the early AM. Is it not ideal to launch any time after the morning? I'm assuming it has something to do with the tide? |

After seeing that there was a second closure, and this time they explicitly state it was a fisherman, I foresee a closure of the launch ramp in the near future.
