30 Pound Club
30 Pound Club The "Clubs" pertain to yellowtail, halibut and white seabass. I will start a thread for 40, 50, 60 and this 30 pound Club. If you have been fortunate enough to reach this level, post em up! No certified scale necessary, post the photos, tell the story if you like. Inspire the rest of us. 35#, 33#, 32# Yellowtails
First two shots. 35# caught 7/27/10. My first legit YT and still PB. (The other previous one was only 15# and was foul-hooked). One hell of a fish. She dragged me around for about an hour. She kept me pinned to the 'rail' and wouldn't let me gain any line on her.
Third shot. 33# caught 11/9/11. I thought this one was a mac stealing squid then I thought, "if you're going to take it, take it!", at which point it whipped the rod tip 90° and started stripping off line. This one's flesh was riddled with black flecks but was still tasty. Fourth shot. 32# caught 11/13/11. November was a good month. This one was pissed off. It taught me what headshaking means. |

Congrats Jorge on the nice winning Butt. I just remembered that even thought I have caught 7, 30+ lbs Yellows in the last 3.5 years, I had never posted one on this thread. Here is my last one on April 17, 2017.

The small one on the right is around thirty. La Jolla January fish taken on squid. Butt I weighed in at MDR over thirty, close to thirtyfive. Redondo fish... Lousy pic but somewhere around thirty. Long skinny LA local homeguard, taken on a mack, somewhere around thirty. Last edited by Fiskadoro; 12-25-2011 at 04:35 PM. |
