Not on kayak but had to tell someone

Just bought a 8" spro bbz1 in the rainbow trout color and wanted to get a feel for the action. Never used a swim bait bigger than 4" before so this is quite the leap for me. First cast, a hawk swoops down and snatches it, I drag him in and before I could take a pic he let go and all I have now is his feather. Bait is intact but missing some paint
Pissed off I just start tossing the bait every which direction and eventually pulled in this after about an hour. Smile ear to ear the rest of the day
Wasn't supposed to fish today so ssshhhhhh

I always wonder how many of the larger rainbow lures and plastics and have been victim to flying predators, seems like it'd be a regular occurrence. Great catch though, both the bird and the bass!

I guess its doing its job if I was able to trick a hawk haha. Yea I still can't stop smiling it was the most intense bass fishing moment for me. I hope it handles the stripers like that this weekend at lake mead

That's a beaut right there. I was at mile square Park throwing an 8" Tylure trout and in one cast I had 2 cormorants and a pelican dive on it.

Nice bucketmouth! The baits these days are so damn life-like. A week or so ago on "Stoked on Fishing", they were skiff fishing Cedros. One of the guys (I think it was the Capt') thew out a hookless MC Swimbait and got a Raptor to swoop and grab it. Too cool!
